Lady bugs made from 100 year old bricks.

Here are the steps in making a lady bug from a brick.
The first picture is a full brick. Next the rough out shape. Then the shape gets finished.

A few details and accents and it is ready to have the finish applied.

What do you think?

Oh yea, they are made with a 4 inch diamond grinding wheel, ground by moving the grinder over the brick.

This is my prototype or test piece to see if it would be possible to carve a simple bug out of a brick. In this case, the brick is over 100 years old. It came from my chimney of my house which was built in 1901.

So, please give my latest work a comment or your thoughts.

Do not worry about hurting my feelings.

I was going for a folks art look. Also trying for a certain price point. What would you say this would sell for at the flea market in front of the American Visionary Art Museum on Saturday June 11, 2011.
